"Science Fiction is a niche genre only read by a few boys who are outcasts in their social settings."
Did you grow up loving science fiction? Do you have children who love science fiction? Please join us in voicing your support for the science fiction genre. Tell us what science fiction means to you. If you just want to say, “I am a Softwire”, that’s great too! We’ll post your stories here in our blog.
The Softwire: Virus on Orbis 1 paperback is sold out and now going into

Here is another blog with a picture. We love the librarian's warning!
Here is the beginning of PJ's tour schedule, but there are many more appearances to add. Many of the
bookstores are still working with various schools on days and times, since the schools have been out of session. We will update the schedule as the itinerary is finalized.
If anyone wishes to visit PJ at one of the schools, please write to yourvoice@iamasoftwire.com for more information. You will need to call and ask permission to attend. Most will welcome you, but you will usually be required to sign
in at the office.

PJ Haarsma begins The Softwire Fall Book Tour today. He will be touring Phoenix, Arizona area schools with his exciting Softwire presentation for the next two weeks. He will then continue to many more stops into the month of October.
All of us involved with I am a Softwire are so thrilled to send PJ on his way. Thank you everyone who is so generously supporting our effort to sponsor his tour. Your love for The Softwire series will now live in the hearts of the kids who are lucky enough to visit with PJ. Hopefully, the tour will help open minds toward the value of science fiction for kids.
We still have a few ebay auctions to run and will continue to sell our Softwire merchandise in the IAAS online store. Candlewick Press, publisher of The Softwire series, has gotten into the spirit of things and kindly contributed $4,000 to the tour (not reflected in the IAAS total).
I am a Softwire wishes PJ the best of luck and great success!
Things are going great here at I am a Softwire! Thank you so very much, those of you who have supported this important effort. We have raised $8,000 so far, but we are trying for at least $1,000 more.
PJ's tour begins in September and runs through October. He will mainly be presenting at schools. If he is visiting a school in your city, please go see him. His presentation is so much fun -- not to be missed!
We have sold lots of t-shirts and are almost sold out of the black men's and women's with the silver Orbis symbol. This is an awesome shirt -- a MUST for any fan of PJ's! The blue tees and cream tees with the silver logo have been very popular with the women too. The black women's I am a Softwire tee with the pink logo is really cute and has also sold very well. We have put all of the shirts on sale in our drive to raise $1,000 more, so now is a great time to buy.
We also have several more eBay auctions to put up. The eBay auctions have been very successful for us. This week, don't miss "the shirt off Nathan's back"! We are selling an IAAS t-shirt worn and signed by Nathan Fillion. We'll post the url on Sunday.
Be sure to check out "PJ Party" for pictures from San Diego Comic-Con!
Thanks everyone!!!
